About Dr. Aree:

  • Sonny Arre, MD, brings a diverse medical background and a deep commitment to service. He studied medicine in Cameroon, Africa, and completed additional training at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He is one of the family medicine residents with the Family Medicine Residency program. This program is a collaborative partnership between Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, the USC School of Medicine and Tandem Health.
  • With previous experience as both an internal medicine intern and general practitioner, Dr. Arre’s clinical interests include community and global health, infectious diseases, lifestyle medicine, and integrative care. His approach is centered on healing the whole person—body, mind, and spirit.
  • Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Arre is the co-founder of Glory Over Defeat, a faith-based humanitarian organization dedicated to uplifting underserved communities. Through this initiative, he has led multiple food drives and outreach efforts in Miami and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. In his personal time, he enjoys hibachi meals, calisthenics, Krav Maga, and reading scripture. Known for his humility and humanitarian spirit, Dr. Arre is passionate about building meaningful connections with those around him and often gives the gift of prayer to those in need.

Inspired by his faith and love for others, he is dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of his patients—both locally and globally—by providing care that is not only clinically sound, but rooted in dignity, respect, and shared humanity.
