About Dr. Kirolos:

  • Aghapy Kirolos, MD, brings over a decade of medical experience to his role as a primary care physician, with special interests in hospital medicine, geriatrics, and the prevention of diabetic retinopathy. He received his medical degree from Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST) in Egypt and also completed training in ophthalmology. She is one of the family medicine residents with the Family Medicine Residency program. This program is a collaborative partnership between Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital, the USC School of Medicine and Tandem Health.
  • Passionate about community health, Dr. Kirolos is actively involved in faith-based outreach through H.O.P.E., a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States, where he participates in missionary medical clinics.
  • Outside of his professional work, Dr. Kirolos enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing tennis, and watching shows like S.W.A.T. with his teenage son. Known for his warm sense of humor and caring nature, he’s often described as funny, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate. While he doesn't cook often, he appreciates Mediterranean cuisine and admits that his favorite pastime in Sumter is simply enjoying a good meal.
  • Dr. Kirolos hopes to be remembered for the strong bond he’s built with his family and the genuine care he provides to his patients. Whether mentoring others, connecting through his church, or helping someone feel seen and heard during a clinic visit, he strives to leave a legacy grounded in love, service, and meaningful relationships.
